You might describe churros as a stick-shaped, deep-fried pastry dough filled with cinnamon and sugar or a vanilla cream. Cheesecake is one of those rich, decadent desserts that you either love or hate. I’m definitely in the former camp and churro cheesecake bars seemed like the perfect way to bring these two unique desserts together. Churro Cheesecake Bars are a quick and easy dessert recipe made with six simple ingredients you probably already have on hand. They are ready to serve warm in under an hour, but you could also chill these bars overnight and eat them cold. Ingredients cream cheese, softened Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar, divided vanilla extract crescent roll dough ground cinnamon butter, melted How to Make Churro Cheesecake Bars Step 1 – Grease a 9×9 baking dish. Then press half of the crescent roll dough into a flat layer on the bottom of the pan. Pinch together the seams (but don’t worry if it’s not perfect). Step 2 – Use an electric mixer to beat together the cream cheese, part of the sugar, and the vanilla until smooth. Then spread the mixture over the layer of dough. Step 3 – Unfold the remaining crescent roll dough, and place it in an even layer on top of the cheesecake filling. Pinch together the seams as well as you can. There will probably be a few gaps, and that’s ok. Step 4 – Brush the top of the crescent roll dough with melted butter. Then combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle it over the melted butter. Tilt the pan in all directions to make sure the top is evenly coated. Step 5 – Bake until golden brown, flaky, and delicious! (About 30 minutes) Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy plain or topped with caramel sauce. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator. Recipe Notes: The churro mix is a bit sticky, so a small offset spatula would be best to use when smoothing churro cheesecake bar mix out into pan. They may need additional cooling time after being removed from fridge if they were not fully set before putting in the fridge.
