Swanky Top 15 Recipes in 2015 posted by Staff Writer Pin Share Tweet Email I want to write this post every year, but the end of the year and the beginning of the new one always comes and goes so fast that I never get around to putting it together. And even though I’m running a little late (would have loved to have actually posted this in 2015 ????), it’s going up anyway! Never mind that it’s only taken me 5+ years of blogging to finally do a “best of” post. Woot woot! 2015 was really a fun year for the blog. I did a lot of experimenting with the camera and food styling, tried out a few new lenses, and worked really hard on improving the quality of the content on Something Swanky from recipes to writing to photography. I had opportunities to develop recipes with some of my favorite brands yet (I’m looking at you M&Ms!) and learned even more about the business side of blogging than I ever have before. Even better than all that stuff, this year I accomplished BALANCE between my blog life and the rest of my life. I handed off more responsibilities to my social media manager and spent more time focusing on me, my family, and our newest little addition. I spent almost two entire months entirely devoted to me, the baby, and being present at home while barely cracking the laptop open at all. It was so needed this year and has brought me such peace. But before we jump into 2016, let’s take one more stroll down memory lane. Here are YOUR favorite recipes from Something Swanky in 2015: #15 Skinny Funfetti Pancakes These are still a personal favorite of mine, and we make them frequently! #14 Bisquick Donuts These semi-homemade donuts are so easy to make and even easier to eat! #13 Cookie Monster Fudge I was so happy to see that you guys loved this recipe as much as I did! #12 Ooey Gooey Oreo Pie This is always a total crowd pleaser (and so easy to make)! #11 World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookies While this didn’t end up being my favorite chocolate chip cookie, it’s still fun to see the Chocolate Chip Cookie Experiment represented in the 2015 reader favorites! #10 Tiger Butter Fudge No surprise here! I know you guys always love a good fudge recipe, so a peanut butter and chocolate swirled fudge was bound to be a reader favorite for the year. #9 Baked Chocolate Donuts Another one my personal favorites that we make on the regular. I love these even better than fried donuts! #8 3-2-1 Cake This recipe was such a lifesaver during my dairy-free and chocolate-free months after I had the baby! My repertoire of approved treats was super limited, and this old Weight Watchers recipe made me feel almost normal again. So yummy, so easy, and diet friendly. #7 Animal Cracker Popcorn So fun to see this in 2015’s reader favorites! A recipe throwback to my cookbook, Party Popcorn, that I wrote in 2014. #6 M&M Brownie Cookies Great minds think alike. This one is definitely also in my T0p 15 for the year too! #5 Cannoli Dip This one went crazy just in this past week. Raise your hand if you made it for New Years! #4 Nutella Brownies I love seeing this one so high up in my Top 15 for the year, because it gives me another chance to remember our sweet friend Joan who passed away in 2015. We miss you! #3 Brownie Mix Cookies If you visited Something Swanky at all last year, you know that I am OBSESSED with these cookies. Good pick you guys! #2 Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Muffins These are huge, fluffy, full of chocolate chips and delicious! And the NUMBER ONE recipe on Something Swanky in 2015 is….. …..drumroll please…. #1 The Best Doctored Up Cake Mix My tried-and-true, gold standard, go-to chocolate cake. Make it with my Best Ever Chocolate Frosting! THANK YOU all so much for such a wonderful year in dessert! You make my dreams come true every day, and I am so grateful. Here’s to a chocolate-y 2016!
