So obviously, this brownie batter dip (which tastes just like brownie batter, only sans eggs) is one of my favorite treats! It’s awesome for parties and crowds, and always such a hit!

I created this recipe a little over a year ago, and since then I’ve seen it explode on the internet! Some of my blogger friends have even made and posted the dip on their blogs, and it seems to be popular wherever it goes! I definitely consider this recipe as one of Something Swanky’s “greatest hits.” Which means… make it! You’ll love it!

My favorite dippers are pretzels (I love sweet and salty)! But it’s also really good with apples, graham crackers, strawberries, and lots of other yummy dippers!
Also, just a side note– there are so many variations you could create with this recipe! Sub in Nutella or Peanut Butter for the butter! Add M&Ms or Reese’s cups! The sky is the limit!

Brownie Batter Dip

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 5 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 5 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, beat together the cream cheese and the butter until smooth.
  2. Add the brown sugar, cocoa powder, flour, vanilla, salt, and 1 tbsp milk. Mix until mostly smooth. (mine stayed a little lumpy until I added all the other ingredients)
  3. Add the powdered sugar and another tablespoon of milk. Beat until smooth. Add another tablespoon of milk if the dip is to thick for your liking, but I usually stop at 2 tablespoons.
  4. Mix in the chocolate chips. Serve with dippers.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving. Serves 8-12

    • Oh, it’s good with pretty much anything! But I think strawberries, graham crackers, apples, and ritz crackers (really) are especially good with it. You can also use it as a frosting on cakes, cupcakes, or cookies!

  7. Something is missing in your instructions…brown sugar! I’m sure it’s a great but if you follow as is: it’s tastes like flour and if you add the brown sugar at the end too grainy ๐Ÿ™

  8. I’m unsure of the need for the flour in the dip. What is its purpose? Wouldn’t everything be creamy enough without flour as glue?

  9. Just made this. It is sinful but soooooo good. I used nutella rather than butter and left out the brown sugar because I don’t have any. Still delicious. Going to serve it with salted mini pretzels. It is like your mom giving you permission to eat the whole bowl of brownie mix. I can now cancel my counseling sessions and just make/eat this instead.

  10. I made a double batch of this for my daughter’s sweet 16 party. We had a lot of it left, so I thinned it a bit with milk to make it a spreadable consistency and used it to frost a cake for tonight. Double awesome.
