You’ll need the obvious necessities, of course: HONEYMAID HONEY Grahams, HERSHEY’S 6-Pack Chocolate Bars, and Jet Puffed Marshmallows. And be sure to pick up the extras that make these GOURMET S’MORES extra special! You probably already have most of this stuff in your pantry, but here’s a list in case you need to pick anything up: vanilla frosting rainbow chips (or other rainbow sprinkles) chocolate sandwich cookies peanut butter marshmallow fluff strawberries Want to know how to roast the PERFECT marshmallows indoors? Ok, so you’ve probably seen marshmallows roasted under the broiler in an oven. Right? Every search I did for “how to roast marshmallows inside” pulled up a dozen tutorials for marshmallows placed right under the broiler, browned, and flipped to broil on the other side. Which is fine. That works okay. But I found that broiling my marshmallows on the top rack right under the broiler didn’t give the marshmallows enough time in the oven to get really gooey and melty on the insides even though the outsides looked perfectly roasted. I was also really dissatisfied with the how little these broiled marshmallows were able melt the chocolate. Since the marshmallows didn’t seem to get heated all the way through, they just weren’t hot enough. After a little trial and error, I found the secret to PERFECT oven-roasted marshmallows that are crispy golden on the outside, totally melted on the inside, warm enough to melt the chocolate, and as an added bonus: no flipping! HOW TO ROAST MARSHMALLOWS IN THE OVEN: STEP 1: Place the graham crackers on a baking sheet and top each one with a marshmallow. STEP 2: Place the oven rack in the MIDDLE of the oven and turn the broiler on. Broil the marshmallows until golden! Moving the rack to the middle of the oven is THE KEY to roasting these marshmallows to perfection. We’re still using the broiler, so we’ll get that golden, crispy exterior. But since the marshmallows aren’t right under the broiler, they stay in the oven a little bit longer, which gives the insides time to get all nice and gooey! This is the reason it is also imperative to broil the marshmallows on top of the graham crackers. Otherwise, they are too gooey to easily remove from the baking sheet. STEP 3: Press a piece of a chocolate into each roasted marshmallow. Return the baking sheet to the oven for about 10 seconds. Ta-da! That’s how you make a perfect indoor s’more, folks. Now let’s dress them up a little ????. Quick & Easy Ideas for Gourmet S’mores Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’mores Add sliced strawberries to the top of the chocolate (this will be “the bottom”). Add a second piece of chocolate to another graham cracker square (this will be “the top”). Place the top on a cookie sheet and return to the oven for 10 seconds. Sandwich together the top and the bottom to create the Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’more. Cookies & Cream S’mores Spread vanilla frosting on a graham cracker square and press it into the chocolate cookie crumbs (this is “the top”). Sandwich together the top and the bottom to create the Cookies & Cream S’more. You can also use HERSHEY’S Cookies & Cream Bars for an added delicious flavor! Fluffernutter S’mores Even though we already have a roasted marshmallow in a s’more– is a Fluffernutter really a Fluffernutter without marshmallow cream?! Nope. We did say GOURMET indoor S’Mores. So spread a graham cracker square with marshmallow cream and peanut butter (this will be “the top”). Sandwich together the top and the bottom to create the Fluffernutter S’more. Birthday Cake S’more Spread vanilla frosting on a graham cracker square and add rainbow chips to the frosting (this is “the top”). Sandwich together the top and the bottom with a marshmallow and chocolate to create the Birthday Cake S’more. Making Indoor Gourmet S’mores at any Summer Get-Together One of the best parts about making indoor s’mores is that you can make a large quantity at one time. So there’s no waiting for someone to finish with a marshmallow stick and no fighting over that one perfect spot for roasting. You can fit 9-12 s’more “bottoms” on a typical baking sheet. Set out all the extra toppings in a buffet line or family style at the table. Let everyone custom-make their own “tops,” so that each person gets their own individualized, perfect s’more! This would be such a fun at-home group date night or even for a special family treat.
