Squish and Dip

Today, I'd like to introduce to you a brand new, super complex, rocket-science-like concept called "The Squish and Dip."

Ok, ok. So it's not really a new idea and it's technically not rocket science. Ok, it's definitely not rocket science. But it is tasty and a super convenient idea to stow away for an "oh crap, I forgot her birthday!" moment, or for a "honey, I told the office you'd make a dessert for everyone today" moment, or for the seemingly ever looming "I don't have a dessert for today's blog post!!" moment. (Just me?)

The idea behind this recipe is that you can use whatever you have on hand. It's simply sandwiching something yummy in between two other things that are yummy and dipping the whole thing in chocolate (which is, clearly, yummy). You'll see what I mean. For today's demonstration I'm using pretzels (the whole bag never seems to get eaten at our house), and some leftover peanut butter frosting. {I'll give you some more ideas at the end of the post}.

Start out with some "pretz--" {quick, name that show!}

Now, you'll need some...

After they've frozen, you can dip them in the melting chocolate. Obviously, milk or dark chocolate would be a delicious choice. However, I only had white chocolate on hand. They still ended up tasting just swell. Once the chocolate has hardened, you should have something that looks something like this:

Can I tell you something so awesome about these? You don't even have to make them pretty. You can dip just as sloppily as you'd like to and they'll still look great. Even more so when you put them in a mason jar with a cute little tag:

Ok, so I promised you some other "squish and dip" ideas:

{Fillings
peanut butter
cream cheese frosting
nutella
bakerella-style cake bite filling
caramel squares
marshmallows

{"The Sandwich Bread:"}
nilla wafers
graham crackers
ritz crackers
chips ahoy cookies
shortbread cookies

Enjoy!
