- pure pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling)

What makes these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brookies so good?
There are a couple of things going on in this recipe that really stand out to me and make these bars over-the-top delicious.
☝🏻The brownie layer is ridiculously delicious and fudgy. My husband actually found the recipe for these brownies a few years ago (see these Triple Decker Bars), and it’s probably the best gift he’s ever given me. You use both melted chocolate and cocoa powder, and the result is completely rich and indulgent 😍.
✌🏻The pumpkin layer isn’t cakey at all. I used the recipe for the cookie layer in those Triple Decker Bars (linked above) as a base and added a little bit of pumpkin + a pack of pumpkin pudding mix for flavor. The result is a gooey, chewy chocolate chip cookie that tastes like pumpkin. Which is pretty perfect in my world.
