Triple Decker Bars
Oh, you guys. You are really in for a treat today! My husband made these Triple Decker Bars last week, and they are downright sinful. There are three decadent layers of buttery sugar goodness in these bad boys: fudgy (SUPER FUDGY) brownies on the bottom, Oreos in the middle, and white chip blondies up top.
My husband gets the baking bug on Sundays, and I used to kind of fight him on it. Which sounds crazy, right? But it always seems to be just as I’m finally getting the kitchen cleaned from our big Sunday breakfast and starting to get ready for church. It’s always then that he wants to go digging through the kitchen and whip something up.
But when he brought up making these bars… well, it left me pretty defenseless. Because what do you say to that?? “No honey. You can’t make these obviously delicious and insane bars with 3 layers of fudgy, Oreo-filled deliciousness. Not in my kitchen you don’t!”
Plus, I realized that he’d actually be getting some blog work done for me at the same time if I photographed them and shared the recipe with you guys. So voila! Two birds: work done + now we get to stuff our faces with brownie/Oreo/blondies. I can get on board with that :)
Enjoy the recipe you guys. These bars are ridiculous!! But in a very, very good way ????.
- 1 cup butter
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups white chips (butterscotch would be good too!)
- 15-20 Oreos for the middle layer
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Prepare the Brownie Layer:
Melt together the butter and the semi sweet chocolate. Let cool slightly.
Stir in the sugar and the eggs. Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Spread the batter in the prepared baking dish.
Press the Oreos into the top of the brownie batter.
Prepare the Blondie Layer:
Melt the butter. Whisk in the brown sugar and vanilla.
Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in the white chips.
Spread the batter over the Oreo layer.
Bake until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 50-55 minutes. Let cool slightly before cutting to serve.
