Oreo Cream Brownies Recipe posted by Staff Writer Pin Share Tweet Email Jump to RecipeDo you love eating the cream center of an Oreo? Then you’ll love these brownies piled high with homemade Oreo cream and topped off with a layer of chocolate! Layer one: my favorite brownies. Layer two: homemade Oreo cream, recipe courtesy Cookies and Cups. Layer three: straight-up chocolate. As far as brownies go, I have to say these are pretty “in your face.” They are big and bad and a dessert force to be reckoned with. There’s no pretending you don’t see them there on the counter, or that you’ll have “just a bite.” Because these three decadent layers laugh in the face of your “will power.” They know your resistance is futile, and your indulgence is simply inevitable. So take you time if you must. They’ll wait for you. These brownies are verrrrry patient, and they know you’ll come around. Brownies. with. OREO. CREAM. Y’all. You never stood a chance. So just grab a glass of milk and go ahead and enjoy the experience… and just don’t even bother with the button on your jeans. Heat the milk chocolate morsels in the microwave for one minute. Stir until smooth and completely melted. Spread over the Oreo cream. Let cool at room temperature for about an hour if you want the chocolate to set up before serving, but you could also dig in while it's all warm and melt-y!! Cover and store at room temperature. Notes Shelly's recipe for Oreo Cream calls for shortening. I know some of you are going to ask if you can substitute butter. And technically you can-- but just know that it won't taste like Oreo Cream. If you want the authentic taste, you have to use shortening. **You may find using the entire batch of Oreo Cream to make this brownies a little TOO sweet. I loved the look of the thick layer of cream for the photos, but when I make these again, I will probably only spread half of the cream over the brownies and save the rest for another recipe!**
Whoa. I am in love with all these layers. The fudge factor. The OREO CREAM! Then the top milk chocolate. Yeah, twist my arm ๐ pinned! Reply
Oh wow. This sounds TO DIE FOR. So decadent and dense and delicious and any other good “d” word I can come up with. YUM! Reply
wow- the layers look incredible. I am obsessed with the inside of an oreo, so I pretty much need to go make these right now! Reply
Great minds think alike! I posted my version of Oreo brownies in May of 2013! These look divine! http://www.jaseyscrazydaisy.com/2013/05/double-stuff-brownies-cousins-to-oreo.html Reply
I just finished making these and I’m having the hardest time waiting for the chocolate to set. They look wonderful!!! Thank you for the recipe! Reply
Made the Oreo cream with butter and it turned out great! I like that I can get the same consistency without the belly fat causing partially hydrogenated oil that is in shortening. Reply
Just made a batch as a “thank you” for the neighbors. Decided at the last minute to cut them into squares and it then on a plate rather than give them an entire dish just so I could try one!! Soooo good. I think next time I’m going to add mint extract and some green food coloring to the cream filling. Thanks for a delicious keeper recipe! Reply
