White Chocolate Snickerdoodle Pudding Cookies are one of the most popular recipes on Something Swanky. How fun to give those cookies a Halloween makeover and replace the white chocolate chips with Candy Corn colored (white chocolate) M&Ms!
There are 5 questions about blogging that I know people will ask me once they find out what I do for a living. They are (and usually in this order):
- Wait. What do you do?
- How do you make money?
- What do you do with all that dessert?
- How do you come up with you recipe ideas?
- How can you manage to do so much baking???
I won’t get into the nitty gritty of all those answers tonight (you can find a lot of them in this post anyway), but I can give you some insight into those last two!
I have two tricks to creating new recipes that I frequently turn to.
The first one is for when I’m running short on time: I try to make two (or three!) recipes out of one. For instance, these cookies actually came from the same batch of dough as these cookies. I simply split the batch of dough into two halves. I mixed M&Ms into one half, and I pressed Hershey Kisses into the cookies that the other plain half made. Voila! Two different types of cookies from one batch of dough. Easy peasy.
My second “trick” is for when I’m in a creative rut: I pick one of my most popular recipes, and see if I can make a twist here or there to make something that tastes just as good as the first recipe but still stands alone with it’s own unique traits. For example, this Pumpkin BTS Cake is another one of the most popular recipes on my blog. So when Christmas rolled around, I made a few tweaks and created a totally unique Christmas BTS Cake. And another reader favorite was born!
And that’s how we arrived at these cookies. A classic Something Swanky recipe with a fun Halloween twist (and a time saver for me to boot)!
I hope you enjoy these as much as my husband did! I’m not joking when I say I almost didn’t have enough to photograph!!
Don’t miss a bite!
