Easy Vanilla Bread Pudding Recipe

This Easy Vanilla Bread Pudding is by far the best bread pudding I’ve ever eaten. The vanilla cream sauce that goes on top is out of this world– my family is obsessed!

I used Rhodes Warm-n-Serve Artisan French Rolls to make this recipe extra quick, easy, and delicious.

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg

Directions

  1. Let the frozen rolls rest on the counter for about 15 minutes. Once they have thawed a bit, you can cut them into bite-sized pieces. Place all of the bread pieces into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2.  Make the custard: in a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour the custard over the bread pieces. Gently move the bread around so that it’s coated evenly in the custard. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9×13 baking dish by lightly spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
  5. After the bread has had time to soak up the custard, transfer the mixture to the baking dish. Bake for 60 minutes (until golden brown and then center appears set).
  6. Make the vanilla cream sauce: in a medium saucepan mix together the cream, flour, and sugar.
  7. Turn on the heat to medium-high and add the butter. Whisk and allow mixture to boil until thickened, stirring continuously.
  8. Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla.
  9. Pour the warm sauce over the bread pudding. Slice and serve warm.
