Easy Reese’s Popcorn Munch & Perfect Pop App Recipe posted by Staff Writer Pin Share Tweet Email Jump to RecipeThis Easy Reese’s Popcorn recipe is a family favorite, and I’m sure you’ll love it too! The key to perfect popcorn is, of course…not burning the popcorn. Any of the popcorn. Because once you’ve got one rogue burnt piece, the smell of it is enough to ruin the rest of the batch. Not to mention the smell of your kitchen! And, can I just ask–how can a bag of burnt popcorn stink up a room for soo long???????? Seriously, it sticks around for days. Someone explain that to me, please! Anyway. I’ve decided that we need a popcorn sensing sixth sense. Like, some kind of super sniffer that lets us know right before the popcorn is going to burn. So that we can sprint to the microwave, hit the stop button just in time, and pull out our perfectly popped bag of not-burned popcorn. Once you’ve successfully popped your popcorn, I highly suggest you move on to one more phase of prep work…the drowning of your perfectly popped kernels in chocolate and peanut butter, followed by a good tossing with miniature peanut butter cups and peanut butter candies. This popcorn is a family favorite, and I’m sure you’ll love it too! We like to eat it while the chocolate is still warm and melt-y (napkins are a must). But, you can wait for it to cool and harden before serving. Just be sure to eat it within about a day of making it for the very best taste and texture. Continue to Content Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn Print Ingredients 1 - 3 oz bag Pop Secret popcorn (in butter, kettle corn, or 94% reduced fat) 3/4 cup chocolate melting candy (like Hershey's Baking Melts or Candiquik) 2 Tbsp. crunchy peanut butter 1 cup Reese's Mini Cups 1 cup Mini Reese's Pieces Instructions Pop popcorn according to directions on box (or using your Perfect Popcorn App!). Remove popcorn from microwave and place popped kernels in a large bowl. Melt the chocolate and peanut butter together (about 1 minutes in the microwave) and stir until smooth. Pour over the popped popcorn. Use a rubber spatula to coat the popcorn in the chocolate/peanut butter mixture. Toss in the peanut butter cups and candies. Eat straight from the bowl right away, or spread on a piece of parchment paper or a silicon mat to cool and harden.

No major story for me with pop corn, just I have burnt my share of them in the microwave. The smell lingers for days, it seems, frustrating. I tend to cook it now on the stove top the “old fashioned” way. jslbrown_03 at yahoo dot com Reply

My worst popcorn story is when my daughter wanted to pop some popcorn. She left it in the microwave for 10 minutes and then went outside. I was out already! When she went to check it it was all but on fire. Smoke was rolling out and needless to say my microwave was black! It was scary! keshakeke(at)gmail(dot)com Reply

I have one of the worst stories! When I was younger, my parents were gone on their anniversary. A neighbor snuck into the house and tried to make Hershey kiss popcorn. He stuck a kiss covered in aluminum foil in the microwave with the popcorn bag. Sparks everywhere! We all kind of freaked out and then he locked himself in the bathroom so the babysitter wouldn’t get him, but that’s another story. Reply
That looks AMAZING. 🙂 As a kid, I definitely have burned an entire bag…my mom was not too happy about that. Reply

The popcorn button on my microwave goes too long and it always burns if I don’t stand there the whole time, but I don’t have the patience and sometimes forget its there. Reply
My worst popcorn burning story was when I still lived at my parents. They had this grate in the microwave that was metal , which was microwave safe oddly enough so we didn’t think of removing it for any reason. Well, we heated up a bag of kernels one day and didn’t account for the fact that the popcorn bag would expand. It pressed up against the grate in the microwave while it was cooking and immediately filled the kitchen with smoke! We didn’t know what was going on. The popcorn was burnt to a crisp but luckily there was no fire. The stupid part is that we did it more than once…oops!! Sure, I burnt the corn. Truth be told, I also enjoy eating the burnt corn just as much as the the regular popped corn. I guess it’s the crunch, the burnt taste, the texture. Perhaps I’m thinking there’s more fiber in the burnt pieces then the regular popped corn. It’s all good. Yum!!! Reply
