This Buffalo Ranch Popcorn is so good, it was featured in O Magazine!

It’s been a while since we’ve talked popcorn on Something Swanky, which is just CRAZY! If you’re new around here, you may not know this, but I have spent the last few years eating/breathing/drinking/dreaming popcorn. Like all the time.

Why?

No, I’m not a popcorn-obsessed maniac (eh… I guess that’s debatable). But I did write a cookbook all about popcorn! Yes I did.

Sometimes I still can’t believe that happened. It all seems like a buttery, hazy blur to me now. But it’s real, I promise! If you need proof, you can read all about it right here.

Also in the realm of unbelievable? Oprah (OPRAH!) featured one of my popcorn recipes in O Mag this year.

O-P-R-A-H.

I know, right?!

So which recipe was it that grabbed Ms. Winfrey’s attention? Was it this creative Chocolate Covered Potato Chip Popcorn? Or this whimsical Animal Cracker number? Or maybe my personal favorite, this easy and versatile Caramel Corn?

Nope, nope, and nope.

It was this Buffalo Ranch Popcorn, which has consistently been the hands down favorite of most readers and media contacts I’ve talked to about the book. It turns out that people love the flavor combo of ranch and buffalo as much as I do (which is no surprise– addictive much?!).

And when it comes to ranch, I always defer to my mom’s sage advice:

“There are some things that you can buy store brand without tasting much of a difference. But ranch dressing is NOT one of those things.”

We’ve always been Hidden Valley Ranch people. And I particularly love the versatility of their Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix. This particular recipe was one of the first I tested for the book, simply because I knew right from the start that I would have to incorporate ranch seasoning into a popcorn recipe!

Hidden Valley doesn’t disappoint. The dry seasoning coats buttery popcorn wonderfully (with or without buffalo sauce) contributing to a bold, distinct, and addicting flavor. In fact– I have multiple recipes in the book that call for ranch seasoning, just because it’s so darn good on popcorn.

One of the things I love most about this recipe and about Hidden Valley’s Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix is how quickly and easily it brings together a recipe. You’ll notice this recipe has very few ingredients, and that’s because the ranch seasoning really does all of the heavy lifting. You really don’t need much of anything else!

This Buffalo Ranch Popcorn is perfect for a movie night with your family or a game night with friends. Easy, flavorful, and snack-ably satisfying! I hope you enjoy this as much as Oprah and I did 😉
