Oh โ and it’s BLUE! Just like Cookie Monster. ๐ Big news (for my little world anyway)! I re-introduced dairy and chocolate back into my diet last week!! I made Monster Cookie Brookies to celebrate, ate my way through all the butter and chocolate-filled items I’d been missing, and promptly got a stomach ache that lasted the entire weekend. Worth it. Baby seems to be tolerating things pretty well too, so that’s exciting! So anyway. This fudge. I’ve had this idea rolling around in my brain for months โ and I genuinely think it’s the most adorable, most delightful fudge I’ve ever made. Today’s fudge is giving me ALL the Cookie Monster feels, you guys. I was a big Sesame Street fan as a kid, and Cookie Monster always kind of resonated with me (shocker ๐). And honestly, at any time of year โ birthday parties, school events, a cookie monster baby shower โ this is an absolute hit. Why This Easy Fudge Recipe Is the Best This is my favorite homemade fudge recipe ever. No candy thermometer required, no specialty ingredients, no much fuss โ just simple ingredients and a simple technique. The base is a creamy milk fudge base made from sweetened condensed milk and blue candy melts. You melt candy melts over low heat in a sauce pan (or microwave in 30-second intervals in a safe bowl!) and combine sugar with the milk fudge base in a large mixing bowl. The result? A perfect smooth texture that sets up beautifully in a prepared pan lined with parchment paper. It doesn’t melt at room temperature, but it’s not too firm either. Basically perfect fudge consistency. ๐ The Blue Color Magic (and Fun Variations!) The gorgeous blue color comes from blue candy melts โ no blue gel food color or extra food coloring needed! That said, if you can’t find blue candy melts, you can absolutely use white chocolate chips with a drop of blue gel food color or even yellow candy melts for a different look. Just use low heat if you swap in white chocolate chips, otherwise the cocoa butter will cause them to seize. A little tip: stir the white chocolate mixture slowly and gently for that perfect smooth texture. You could also try this same simple fudge recipe with different themes for totally different vibes โ vanilla bean fudge style for a more classic look is SO dreamy too! Cookie Monster Fudge Toppings and Mix-Ins Cookie Monster usually likes chocolate chip cookies, and same, buddy, SAME. I loaded this batch of blue fudge with mini cookies โ both mini Oreos and chocolate chip cookie pieces โ pressed right into the top of the fudge before it sets. I also stirred a full cup of the mini M&M’s (peanut butter M&M fans, you could totally swap those in!) into the fudge mixture for extra fun. And can we talk about candy eyeballs?! I wish I had added googly eyes โ aka edible eyes or mini candy eyes โ for that true monster cookie fudge monster’ effect. Next time, I am absolutely doing that. You can find candy eyeballs easily on Amazon (I’m an Amazon Associate, just FYI!). Press additional cookies and mini candy eyes onto the back of a spoon to smooth the top before chilling. So cute. I literally can’t even. Tips for the Perfect Treat Every Time Pour your fudge mixture into a baking dish or prepared pan lined with parchment paper, smooth the top, and press your cookie pieces in. Chill time is about 2 hours in the fridge until fully set. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week โ if it lasts that long! This easy monster fudge skips pre-made fudge mixes, marshmallow cream, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract drama. It’s just simple, creamy fudge magic. Unlike traditional cakes, you don’t need to fuss with a batter โ just melt, stir, pour, and chill. This is also a perfect treat for making a smaller batch if you don’t need a full pan. This impressive treat is way easier than it looks, I promise. If you love fun fudge, you have to try my Caramel Potato Chip Fudge and Rocky Road Fudge next! Make This Sweet Treat!
