Serve them warm on the side with dinner, dunk them in cinnamon sugar for dessert, or split them in half and make a sandwich. The possibilities are endless! I only made these with the rolls still frozen, so I’m not sure what the result will be if you boil the rolls after they thaw. Print Ingredients Rhodes Warm-N-Serv Rolls 2/3 cup baking soda 1 egg yolk coarse sea salt for sprinkling Instructions Preheat oven to 450ºF. Fill a large pot with 10 cups of water. Mix in 2/3 cup baking soda, and bring water to a boil. Place each frozen roll in the boiling water, top side down, for 60 seconds. Remove and place (the unboiled, bottom side down) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Whisk together the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the egg yolk mixture over the boiled rolls. Sprinkle dough with coarse sea salt. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes until tops are dark in color. Allow pretzel rolls to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving. Although best served warm and fresh, rolls may be cooled to room temperature and stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
