This week, we enjoyed our first snow in the new house.

AKA Winter Storm Helena.

AKA 3 Full Days Out of School.

As always, the first day was fun. The kids went sledding and tromped around in the snow. They were super cute all bundled up, red nosed, and out of breath from the cold. We made snow cream and then, later, snuggled by the fire with a movie and hot chocolate.

Easy two-ingredient snow cream is so much fun to make on a wintery snow day!

Day 2 was okay too. Church was cancelled, but we did our own thing at home and stayed inside. We even had a dinner party with a few friends, neighbors, and family members.

Day 3 was fine. Emma played with her friends in the snow in the morning and watched movies in the afternoon.

But by Day 4…. oh man. The snow had turned into slush and ice, rendering it completely un-playable. Emma was bored out of her mind. I was losing mine. Chris was back at work.

I think we've all been there, right? I needed a pan of brownies or a straight jacket. Either one would've done the trick I think.

And then school was cancelled AGAIN.

AND THEN! Finally, school was back in and I got confused as to what day it was and didn't set my alarm to wake up and take Emma to school. I KNOW. ????

A little before 8:00 I cracked my eyes open and saw Emma fully clothed in her school uniform, playing on her tablet on the floor beside my bed. Even then, it still didn't click.

And then it did. I launched myself out of bed and started rapid-fire questioning Emma, “Did you eat breakfast? Pack your lunch? Are your shoes on? Is your backpack packed? Where's your coat????” She stared back and me, shrugged and said, “I don't know, I was just waiting for you to wake up!”

So yeah. We were like really, super duper late to school. And grabbed fast food for breakfast on the way.

No, you're the best mom ever. ????

Anyway. It's all good. We're good. I'm good. Everyone is fine. ????

In other news… I discovered portrait mode on my phone, and I'm in love. It's awesome… as long as you're in optimal light. Anything less than perfect light, and it's not so great.

But, still… kinda fun to play with.

CJ had a doctor's check up a couple of weeks ago and is super tall with a big head, according to the numbers anyway…

We've read Go, Dog. Go! like 200 times.

I did some decorating. Not much, but still a small victory!

And, lastly, we I found this old picture of my Grandma. She died before I was born, so I never met her. But I've always heard so much about her that I feel like I know her. I've always been told that I look a lot like her, and I can see it a little bit in this photo…

What I'm Loving

OBSESSED with making mug cakes using Kodiak Cakes pancake mix. Chocolate is my favorite. Peanut Butter with chocolate chips was amazing too. All you need is a 1/4 cup of mix + some water (just eyeball it) and about a minute in the microwave. SO GOOD!

This. It's in the picture of my nightstand above. I love, love, LOVE it.

No, I didn't make it. And I don't care how crafty you are, you can't beat $20 for way-better-than-homemade quality. LOVE this. Totally buying more.

Lastly, this top from Target. I own it in two different shades of gray, and I can't get enough. It's crazy comfy, long in the back, and has thumb holes. And I haven't had to pay for either one, because I always choose the C9 Athleticwear perk on my Red Perks! ????????

That's it from me! Enjoy your week ????.
