Way to go! You made it to the weekend!!

The past couple of weeks have been both slow and hectic at the same time. Nothing too exciting has been happening, so I haven't taken many pictures. It's just been A LOT of time driving back and forth between school and lessons and practice and squeezing in as much work as I can.

I have most of my recipes made and photographed all the way through the beginning of November, so I've been able to slow down just a tad and get back to a normal pace in baking and photographing. Although I'm still way behind on my editing and getting those photos into the blog composer, but I'll get to that. In the meantime, fingers crossed I don't have a repeat of last year (when I lost the memory card that had all my posts I'd prepared for my maternity leave)! I think I've learned my lesson though– the memory cards STAY in the camera or the computer at all times!!

Anyway. Here are some of my favorites that you can expect to see in the coming weeks and months:

Cookie dough wrapped in a brownie and covered in chocolate. These Cookie Dough Brownie Bombs are even better than they look!

This is for a book review for my sweet friend, Hayley. You've probably seen her blog, The Domestic Rebel. And you've probably seen her famous Cookie Dough Brownie Bombs ????. I'll be telling you all about her cool new book and this recipe that I've been dying to try out very soon!

This recipe for chocolate pecan pie is a family recipe that always makes an appearance at our holiday dessert table!

One of our Thanksgiving family favorites 🙂

Spooky and cute Halloween cake made with Oreo crumbs, Cool Whip ghosts, and candy corn pumpkins!

So cute, right?? I don't usually get all that into Halloween here on the blog. But this year I had some fun, and I can't wait to show you!

I'm OBSESSED with Hawaiian roll sliders. This breakfast version was AWESOME. I'll be sharing it over at Keat's Eats pretty soon. Are you following me over there yet?? We're getting a makeover soon, so I'll do a big “unveiling” of my new blog then. But you should still go get a sneak peek and tell me what you think ????.

I did a family shoot this week, and it was so much fun. Seriously, I can't believe I've spent so much of my time as a photographer NOT taking pictures of families! I find myself grinning through the entire editing process. There's so much joy in family photography!

Here are a few of the ones that I loved:

Progression on the house hasn't been as rapid over the past two weeks as it has been, so I don't really have any exciting new pictures there. But we did get a roof!

I'm hoping by the next time I post we'll have siding too.

We went out to the house as a family this week and wrote on the beams and the floors some of the characteristics and virtues we want our home and our family to be “built” on. We came up with love, laughter, diligence, kindness, and faith. I'll have to come up with something crafty to display in our home (maybe a print or something) that reminds us of those goals. Can't wait to put it in our new house 🙂

What I'm Loving

It's honeycrisp season and I've been living on apples and freshly ground honey roasted peanut butter!! In full disclosure, I've been buying mine at Whole Foods recently. But when I'm not feeling lazy, I make my own in my Blendtec blender.

Have I ever mentioned VidAngel before? Ever since the VidAngel App was added to the app store on the Apple TV, this is the ONLY way my family watches movies. We don't even go to the theater anymore, because movies are released so soon on VidAngel after they're in the theater. You barely have to wait at all! Plus, it's cheap (only $2 for an HD rental). And, OF COURSE, you can filter out all the bad stuff. I don't have to hear any swear words, see any scantily clad women, or even have to deal with uncomfortable sexual dialogue. You can literally filter out immodesty. Isn't that amazing??

It's been revolutionary in our home. We still don't really watch rated R movies, even filtered. But so many PG-13 movies (and even some PG) have just become so unnecessarily filthy that we haven't really enjoyed the movie scene in a long time. It's nice to have options again!

Also– I watched Me Before You last night on VidAngel, and it's miserably wonderful. I swore I wouldn't read the book, because the movie just broke my heart. But I went and bought it immediately anyway. I can't help myself.

Well, that's it from me!! Have a great week! XOXO ????
