Ingredients Needed for Homemade Marshmallows
- water
- unflavored gelatin
- sugar
- vanilla
- powdered sugar

Step by Step Instructions
- Let the gelatin soften on the water.

2. Add the sugar.

3. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves.

4. Let mixture cool until lukewarm.

5. Whisk on high for 20-25 minutes, until stiff peaks form.

You’re looking for slightly stiffer peaks than this. I took the photo a few minutes too soon.
6. Spread the mixture out in a 9×13 jelly roll pan and let them set for about 2 hours. Then you can cut them into squares, toss them in powdered sugar, and plop them in your hot chocolate!
