About 10 years ago, I was in a terrible car accident on Christmas Eve. My brothers and I spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and days beyond that in the hospital. A nurse gave me a giant stuffed Winnie the Pooh to hold on to while I dealt with that first wave of trauma. I was 18 years old and in college, but somehow that Winnie the Pooh made me feel better in a way I couldn’t understand or begin to explain.

I know that having something soft to touch and hold is immeasurably helpful for trauma patients. In memory of that time in the hospital and the generosity of those who donated gifts and other treasures to the patients who would be hospitalized over Christmas, I visit the pediatric wing of a hospital every holiday season with teddy bears and blankets to donate to the children.

While I don’t mind in the least using my own money to fund this donation, it occurred to me this year that I could donate SO MUCH MORE and higher quality, handmade items to these sweet children if I asked for YOUR HELP and for donations from my readers.

Here’s what I would like to do:

After I put together a list of available vendors (that’s YOU!), I will post again about this project and ask my readers to purchase a stuffed animal or blanket from your shop with a discount code. This item will be mailed directly to me, and I will take it to the pediatric wing of the hospital during the week before Christmas.

I hope that this is a win-win for everyone involved! It should be a boost in sales for your shop and provide beautiful handmade comfort items to children who have to spend the Christmas holiday in the hospital.

If this sounds like a project you would be interested in, PLEASE fill out the form below as soon as possible!!! I will be reaching out to you in the next day or so to confirm your participation and provide shipping details.

****ALSO: this isn’t included in the image above, but I am also collecting gift baskets (complete baskets, NOT gift basket individual items) to donate to the nurse’s station. If you sell gift baskets/buckets/bags/mugs/boxes etc, and would like to participate in this project, PLEASE fill out the form below as well!!!!!

Thank you! I can’t wait to work together on this project that is so near and dear to my heart ❤️.
