Since the beginning of summer vacation, my kids and I have been on a major rice krispie treat kick. We buy the mega box at Sam’s club, and lasts us about a week (although, I suspect my husband is going through them faster than the kids are).

Basically, we really heart rice krispie treats.

And this is the MacDaddy recipe of themย all. Insane gooey-ness. M&Ms. And a white chocolate drizzle on top. This is my hands down favorite rice krispie treat of all time (and that includes, Biscoff RKT, Toasted Marshmallow RKT, and Butterfinger Butterscotch RKT— all of which are hard to beat).

There is something about this flavor and texture combo that is justย so right, know what I mean?

If you like rice krispie treats, you are going to flip for these! Added bonus: *NO BAKING*

Because it is waaaaaaaaaay too hot for that nonsense. Turn off the oven and dig into these instead! Woot!

M&M Rice Krispie Treats with White Chocolate

Yield: 9

An easy recipe for gooey rice krispie treats with M&MS and a white chocolate drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 butter
  • 10 ounces miniature marshmallows
  • 5 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 1 cup M&Ms
  • 1/4 cup white melting chocolate, melted (I like to use Wilton's or Ghirardelli)
  • ย

Instructions

Melt together the butter and miniature marshmallows in the microwave and stir until smooth.

Mix in the cereal completely. Gently fold in the M&MS (they crack and get melted chocolate everywhere if you mix to forcefully or for too long. A few turns will do just fine).

Gently press the mixture into a parchment lined (or well greased) 9x9 baking dish. Let cool for about 30 minutes or until firm to touch and no longer warm.

Cut into bars and drizzle the melted chocolate over each one. Top with additional M&Ms if desired.

  1. I haven’t seen Kissables, but they do make Hershettes around Christmas, which are basically just red and green m&ms. ๐Ÿ™‚

And, um, these look fabulous. I don’t super love white chocolate, but I think I could get down with it in my rice krispies.

  2. I love rice krispies, but ones that are loaded down with candy and chocolate like this are even better!!! Go ahead and just mail them to Aimee and I…we will make sure the krispies get lots of loving!!!

I do remember those kissables but I haven’t seen them in years!!!

  3. i like rice krispie treats in their own special way too – i love dressing them up with fun and creative new ways. the festive and colorful m&ms and white chocolate are a wonderful pair for them! And i’m still drooling over your 3 muskateers version of them ashton! holy cow. amazing.

  4. I have a coworker who LOVES rice krispie treats, and is always begging me to bake some. It cracks me up because they are quite possibly the easiest thing to make ever. I guess it’s like my hubby thinking he “made” crudites, that’s how I feel about “making” rice krispie treats haha. They are pretty yummy though, not gonna lie ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Can you tell me the secret to keeping the M&Ms from melting? Just made these, and once I added in the M&Ms and combined, they all melted, so now we just have chocolate rice krispy treats. Which are still super yummy, but not what we were going for! Thanks!

    • Some of them always end up melty, but here’s what I do to keep it from getting too bad: I usually give the krispie mix a few minutes to cool, first of all. Of course, not all the way firm, but just so that it’s not super warm to the touch. Secondly, I use a really “soft” rubber spatula– the bigger the better. And most importantly– once I start stirring the M&Ms in, I know that I only get a few “stirs”, so I try to make them count by making it more a “fold” than a “stir.” Just like you would fold egg whites into a batter, try and fold the M&Ms in by scooping krispie mixture over the M&Ms…. that’s probably all super confusing, but I hope it helps a little!
