Our Week in Pictures + What I’m Loving
Hi, friends :)
Wow, it’s been a while it feels like!! Nonetheless, I’m afraid I’ll have to keep this brief. I have to run to carpool in just a few minutes, so barely enough time to toss up some pictures, I know. But I’ve found that I really miss doing these Our Week posts when too much time passes in between them. So no matter how short this is, I want to get it up today!!
We cut bangs!! 😱
Not my favorite, but she is LOVING it so I’m trying to get on board. They do make her look a lot more like I did as a kid (I rocked the bangs for a lonnnnnnnnng time in my day). I’ll have to dig up an old photo to share with you guys soon.
Matching ties for the boys.
I don’t really know what to say about this photo. I’m not sure why I decided that would be the most flattering pose for me whilst holding this cake. But… I did, and the photo happened, and I’m moving on.
Mostly, I just wanted to show you that I freaking love this Red Velvet Turtle Poke Cake so much that I made it again just two short days after I made it the first time for the blog. It is SO GOOD. Make it!!!
My baby went on his first cross-country trip with Chris a couple of weeks ago. They flew out to California to see his family. I totally cried the night before he left 💔. I seriously have the hardest time parting with this little monster. But I think he did pretty well, and he made it back to me in one piece, so I’m all good now. And I’m never letting him leave me ever again. 😂
What I’m Loving
My mom is a beast at pretty much everything. She showed up one day while Chris and CJ were out of town and was all like, “Hey, wanna paint your china cabinet?”
And then she did. Because she’s amazing.
I’m in love with it. The color is stunning, and I love that it breaks up all the brown and white in our downstairs. Seriously. I’m completely smitten. Thanks mom :)
Discovered that Kroger sells 8 bajillion flavors of my favorite low cal ice cream!!!!!!! So I bought 1 bajillion of them :)
I went a little crazy and spent like $25 on 4 donuts. I know.
But it was quasi-worth it. I think I’ll buy a batch once a month or so and try to make them stretch. These are special protein packed donuts from The Dough Bar, and they are really, really good. I’m counting points right now AND eating several small meals throughout the day, and these fit in really well with my eating goals. It was nice to eat an entire donut without blowing my whole day, and they were each filling enough to count as one of my small meals and last me until the next. With the exception of price and waiting a week for them to arrive in the mail, I’d give these two thumbs up.
That’s it from me this week! Talk soon :)
