Sweet Treats Thursday

I so very distinctly remember our teachers forcing us to take a typing class in the 8th grade. They’d cover up our hands and drill us typing without being able to look at the keyboard.
Back then, I thought:
“When, in real life, am I ever going to be unable to just look down at my hands on the keyboard?”
And now, here I sit 12 years later, with an 18-month-old sprawled across my lap (and the laptop) completely obstructing my view of the keyboard (and of the screen, for that matter). 
I think my teachers would be quite impressed that I can not only blindly type, but I can also type with 25 lbs bouncing up and down on both of my arms.
Just saying…
But hey! Why am I talking about 8th grade typing?? 
It’s CHRISTMAS WEEK!!!
CHRISTMAS, people!
Are you as stoked as I am? 
I was totally bit by the Christmas bug this week, 
and I can’t stop singing “Time To Be Jolly” by Bing Crosby :)
Is there anything more Christmas-y than Christmas desserts?
I guess there are presents, and stockings, Santa and mistletoe… 
…but I think I’d take my Grandma’s Monster Cookies over mistletoe any day of the year!
(Shh. Don’t tell my husband. He’d be so personally offended.)
Speaking of which, you guys whipped up some fabulous Christmas desserts
last week that I would definitely be interested in over mistletoe!
(I really do like kissing my husband. I swear.)

Andes Mint Cookie Dough Truffles by Shugary Sweets. While I love Andes mints and truffles, it was the cream cheese that really sold me on these! I have been in love with recipes like this one lately!
Kristin’s kNook guest posted these Oreo Peppermint Creams over on Naptime Creations.
I love Oreos and Peppermint. ‘Nuff said.
These Penguin Oreo Pops from the Sweet Swiper are too cute. I LOVE the idea to use football Oreos!
And finally, I think Mrs. Fox’s Sweets deserves some major props for this AMAZING Christmas present cake!!!

Happy Fall, ya’ll! And happy Thursday!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway last week and to those of you who linked up all sorts of yummy looking desserts! Here are a few features from last week:

Pumpkin Pecan Pie by Sweet Baby Mason James. I’m usually in charge of the pecan pie at my family gatherings, so I’ll be filing this one away for Thanksgiving this year!!

Caramel Swirl Hunks by Life’s Simple Measures. These look a little too delicious. I’m pretty sure I could easily down an entire dish (on my own!) of these guys…

And I’ve actually had my eye on this recipe for a while, so I was so happy to see that Pampers, Play Dates, and Parties linked up these Cinnamon Toast Roll Ups:
