hehe – I say ‘dude’ a lot, too. Well, really just to my husband (for some reason, we always call each other ‘dude’) but sometimes it gets out of hand. My husband accidentally called his mom ‘dude’ a few weeks ago, so we’ve been trying to cut back!
This just makes me like you (and your awesome blog!) even more, dude!

@Melissa And PS, I’m a new follower!
Awesome blog!
I enjoy your blog, and your parties, And where can I find vanilla bean paste? That sounds like my kind of ingredient. I love me a strong vanilla, and I’ve contemplated making my own, just because I wanted it stronger… but I’ve never gotten around to it. Thanks for your great ideas!
Thanks for hosting, congrats, and “Hi!”
The hot fudge cake looks amazing! Good features this week
Love the pics of your treats! I was going to ask you about vanilla bean paste. Do you use it like extract? I’ve never used it in my baking and candy making. Thanks for the chance to win a bottle! I’d love to try it!!!(Well… with your guidance on HOW to use it!) -Deena
@Ani It can be a little tricky to find– you can definitely buy it online, like at Amazon. I usually find it in cake/candy/culinary specialty stores. Online is your best bet though if you don’t have a little shop like that around anywhere! It’s so worth it. I was totally prepared to have to buy it online when we moved to VA, but I actually found a store here that sells it!!
@Dee Yep! You use it just like you would extract– it just brings out the vanilla bean flavor so much more. I even love using it to make homemade vanilla bean ice cream. Seriously– it’s my favorite ingredient! I always have to pace myself so I don’t use it all up in just a few days!!
Oh la la!! I’ve only heard of the wonderment that is vanilla bean paste! Thanks for the giveaway! http://www.screamingpenny.net -Manda!
I’ve been wanting to try vanilla bean paste for so long! I can’t afford it right now, seeing as how I’m a broke college kid, haha. I’m gonna defy the odds and open a cupcake shop after graduation. Your blog is a great inspiration!
Debi Cupl-Hook
um, I really hope that I win. because every time I see a recipe calling for vanilla bean anything, I sigh and wish i had some paste. thanks for the giveaway!
Oooh! I would love to try some vanilla bean paste!
You have got to try that hot fudge cake – it was so yummy! Congrats on 500 plus followers! I would love to win some vanilla bean paste!
one of my fave quotes about diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks is “that’s why God made chocolate and vanilla” – me? i prefer chocolate. but you need some vanilla in life too. would love to try this fab paste. thanks for the fun post and the blog is lookin’ super sassy! kudos on the anniv!
Just linked up Toffee Pound Cake. Vanilla bean paste is awesome, especially when you’re making pastry cream or a vanilla cake or vanilla ice cream, anywhere that you can see the flecks of vanilla bean.
I thoroughly enjoy your site! I just started a blog and I hope its beautiful like this one! Keep up the good work!
I use so much vanilla in cooking that I have started to make my own.
jessicarwarfield at gmail dot com
I would love to try some vanilla bean paste! Thanks as usual for hosting.
Congratulations on your milestones. I would love to try some vanilla bean paste. I used vanilla extract, vanilla powder and the bean itself but never tried the paste. Sounds intense and delicious.
Happy Friday and thanks for hosting Sweet Treats Thursday.

Yum, everything looks so delicious that I immediately want to run out for ingredients so I can blow my diet!
Welcome back to another dessert filled Sweet Treats Thursday!
Can I just tell you that all the desserts I’ve been seeing on your blogs this week are looking especially incredible? I’ve been doing a juice fast, and today is day 7. And can I tell you what I’ve learned from this experience? I love desserts.
That’s what this juice fast has made me realize– more than anything else. I. LOVE. DESSERTS. Yes, when I see bread and pizza and rotisserie chicken on the TV– well, I’ve been drooling a little. But when I’ve been perusing through your blogs, looking at all your desserts… W-O-W.
My only outlet has been pintrest. Maybe you’ve noticed that I’ve been a pintrest maniac this week trying to quench an insatiable sweet tooth! I even created an entire board completely dedicated to S’mores recipes! {mmmm, I love my Smores!}
So, what I’m getting at: just know that I’ll be looking at all of your link ups this week with a special twinkle in my eye (aka, dessert deprivation). And I’ll be having a visual smorgasbord! So be kind, and show me lots and lots of dessert
Oh- and follow me on Pintrest! I’m a great pinner
Ok, ready for the features??
The Farm Girl Recipes linked up these incredible looking Peanut Butter Cookie n’ Brownie Bars. Can you believe this picture? I can’t stop looking at it…
And here’s something different: Oreo Stuffed Marshmallows on a Stick from Dip It In Chocolate. I know, I had to read that a few times too. But she really did stuff Oreo inside of a marshmallow!! Dipping it in chocolate was really the obvious next step…
And let’s wrap things up with Lemon Drop’s Butterscotch Bars! I am such a sucker for any kind of a coconut/chocolate/brown-sugar-gooey type bar like this. Don’t expect anyone else to get a taste if I’m around. Seriously…
If you were featured grab a button from the page up top (and thanks for being awesome)! Happy linking, folks!
And please don’t forget to follow me if Something Swanky makes you drool a little bit
Thank you!
1. Dessert-related posts only– you can link up photos, recipes, crafts that look like treats, whatever! As long as it’s in the sweet treats family.
2. Link back to a specific post, not your main page.
3. Please grab a button and spread the word!!

As you wish.
Two sweet recipes from me! I don’t know if I could go that long without sweets. Today is day 1 for me of the Special K diet. I needed a jumpstart. But tomorrow we’re going to the beach (read: ice cream) and next week to an amusement park (read: funnel cake) so who knows how long it’ll last!
Thank you so much for inviting me! I am drooling over everything here
All of those featured look so delicious! I linked up some molasses cookies

waw ,, look yammy
Wow! What a busy week it’s been! We’ve been doing A LOT of driving and unpacking this week! And not a ton of blogging, unfortunately
So here are a few Something Swanky blog-type things I wanted to tell you about before the party starts:
*You may have noticed the new blog design. And that means— new buttons! I know there were a few problems with the old buttons that made them kind of annoying, so I’ve redesigned these buttons with you in mind! They’re a better size for your sidebar and there’s no ugly white border around an irregular shape. So go ahead, take one! They’re yours!! Find them on the {Grab Some Buttons Page} listed at the top of the page.
*Check out the {Be Featured} tab (on the right sidebar). I’m looking for opportunities to feature YOU!
*If you host a link party, PLEASE feel free to add it to my {I ♥ To Link} page (find it along the top of this page). If you just put it in the comments, there’s a good chance I’ll put it on my mental “to do” list and then lose the list– consider yourself warned
*Last, but not least: I didn’t get my post up yesterday until late and night, and I really want you all to see the recipe Eat Cake For Dinner submitted for my Bake Sale! So check it out here!
Ok, I think that’s it! Let’s see some features, shall we?
The moment I saw these Apple Nachos linked up last week, I knew I’d be sharing them with you this week! I think they’re brilliant
From Shugary Sweets:
Not long ago, I featured some DIY candy bars– LOVE those. Last week, Making Memories linked up these homemade Milky Ways:
This is another treat that immediately caught my eye at last week’s party. Can you say DELICIOUS?? Thanks to The Gunny Sack for linking up this yummy looking Chocolate Chip Cookie and Ice Cream Cake:
If you were featured, feel free to grab a featured button from the {Grab Some Buttons} page up top!
1. Dessert-related posts only– you can link up photos, recipes, crafts that look like treats, whatever! As long as it’s in the sweet treats family.
2. Link back to a specific post, not your main page.
3. Please grab a button and spread the word!!

Thanks for the feature! The apple nachos were delish and something I will be making again real soon!
Aimee

Happy Thursday! And welcome to the party! Before we get started, I want to show off some of the Sweet Treats from last week:
Lady Behind the Curtain brought these Drumstick Cupcakes to last week’s party– the most viewed link up!
I thought this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake from Katie’s Cucina looked delicious– and besides that, I’m all for any sort of DIY Cheesecake Factory dessert!
I hope it isn’t too much of a Linky Party faux pas to feature a blogger two weeks in a row, but I can’t help but giving special mention to Crazy For Crust’s Cake Batter Ice Cream . It looks so good!
Alright, that’s enough from me! It’s time to see the yummy treats you’ve brought!
If you’ve been featured, please feel free to grab a Featured button from my {Grab Some Buttons} tab!
1. Dessert-related posts only– you can link up photos, recipes, crafts that look like treats, whatever! As long as it’s in the sweet treats family.
2. Link back to a specific post, not your main page.
3. Please grab a button and spread the word!!

Hmm..I’m not seeing any sort of option to submit. It looks like you set the time for 11pm this evening as the link party start time.

hmmm I linked up but it’s showing on your side bar and not on your main page… odd. Anyway’s thank you for featuring my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake.
Thanks for the invitation! I always enjoy the sharing. I posted my Moscato Trifle Delight this week.

Great features! That cheesecake is calling to me. Thanks for sharing and for hosting this party.
Those drumstick cupcakes you have featured sound amazing!
new follower to the blog…SO cute…any cupcake lover/baker/artist is a friend of mine. I linked up the Blach Baa Baa’s Take Care
Thanks for the feature!
I’ve linked up again this week. Both of those other features sound so good!
Loving all the featured desserts – yum! Wish I could reach through the screen! – Cares
Thanks for inviting me! Loving the features!
Heyo – If you still need a guest blogger for the weekend give me a holler.
Thanks so much for hosting.
Thanks for the invite. Would love you to link up one of your recipes on A Well-Seasoned Life’s Sweet Indulgences Sunday!

You are the bomb diggety for sharing my s’mores danish!!! Thank you so much for the love!!!
I like having a party that has more things. It helps me not miss out on so many fun other than food posts. And I don’t think you would have to change the name that much. The other link ups are bound to be “sweet” as in awesome!!!
So is ziplist compatible with blogger? Because I signed up for a few months ago and then wasn’t sure what to do next. Surprise surprise:-)
Thanks for hosting!!!
I haven’t had any problems with it so far! You just click on the save button… I don’t think blogger really makes a difference. Have you had any problems?
LOL! I just set up an account…I wasn’t sure what to do next. But honestly does that surprise you any? We both know how computer challenged I am!
So glad your brother found music to brighten his days and strengthen his spirits! Love the video!
Thanks for watching!!
Love your party, love your blog! So much yummy, haha:)
Thanks so much for hosting another party
If you ask me – I prefer 2 link ups – one for sweets and one for everything else.
There is nothing like music to brighten even the darkest day
Thanks for hosting such a delicious party! Today I am sharing my Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls! Have a GREAT week! —Sheryl—
I checked out ziplist before recipage and it said it wasn’t compatible at the time with blogger. Do you have to transfer each recipe individually into ziplist? I don’t think I would look forward to doing that again!!
Thanks for hosting. I say more at the party the merrier!
They did everything for me. I had to go back in and manually add the Save Recipe button– but only because I wanted to since all of my posts aren’t recipes. If you don’t ask to do that, they’ll give you a code for your HTML that will automatically be inserted in all of your recipes.
Thank you for hosting and I love ziplist, it makes everything so handy.
I love the idea of a desserts only party. I just never have any desserts.:( So, I would love to be able to put other things up, but in a separate list, I think.:)
Thanks for hosting!! I’m your newest follower:) I think it’s up to you~ if you want two categories or not, but I tend to have many non-dessert posts too. Come say hello sometime at http://stellabskitchen.blogspot.com
Thank you so much for hosting!!!
Thanks for hosting Ashton, as always. As long as you keep doing this fabulous party, I’m good with it being anything!
Now I’m curious about ziplist. I’ll add that to my list of things to do. Ha!
I watched the video…and I shared it on my personal FB, hope that’s okay?
Thanks so much! You are awesome!
I love that you have a desserts-only party; I think that’s what makes it unique.
Your brother did an amazing job on the video!
Love all the desserts here! So fun! Thanks for hosting!!
I’ve shared your video on my FB and Google+ page.
Thanks and have a great weekend!
You are the BEST!! Thanks for the feature, the party, and all the extras! Headed out the door for school carpool – will watch the video when I return. My son suffers with adhd and several other learning issues – music is amazing:)
This video is great, but it posts the whole blog when I try to share it on my Facebook page. Is it someplace where I can share just the video? My daughter is a psychologist and a musician and music has always been her “safe place” when she needed it.
Never mind … finally took an extra minute and found the link on the actual video. It is now on my Facebook page. Blessings to your brother. I am so glad he found music.
This is Cooper, thanks for watching the video and for sharing it!! So many people don’t know about expressive art therapy, I hope the story of Jesse will illustrate to many people the power of the arts.
Thank you for sharing this video!!
Thanks for the giveaway!! I’m super excited to use my Silpat!
I think you should open it up to at least non-sweets. I have lots of non-sweet recipes that I can’t share here! Sad. Thanks for hosting!
Thanks for sharing the video. Music has such extreme powers, and I’m glad your brother was able to benefit from it. I have shared this on my FB page!
Hi Ashton! Here to link up Birthday {Pan}Cake!!!
Thanks so much for hosting Ashton
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much for hosting, I have shared the link on my personal Facebook page.
Have a great weekend.
I linked up for the first time and am now headed to pin some recipes! I love the video and shared it. I have two sons with ADHD and one of them also has an anxiety disorder. I love anything that raises awareness that these kids often just need an outlet. The video was very professional!
This is Cooper, i’m so glad you liked the video!! I hope your sons find help through the arts like the boy in the video did. If you could do me a huge favor and email, facebook, etc. the link to the video to everyone, that would be absolutely amazing. THANK YOU!!

My preference would be to keep the sweet treats party and add an additional for everything else.
I watched the video and it was great! What a shame that some schools are doing away with many of the arts. Everyone learns differently and this video poignantly points this out. What a wonderful program, especially for those with difficulties learning the traditional way.
Ashton, I think it would be fine if your linky party was all-inclusive, but if that’s the case I would change the name to make it clear that the party is not just for desserts.
Thanks for hosting the party!
Very good video…great program. I hope your brother gets a good grade on his project!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for featuring my Chocolate Caramel Crunch Cake! You made my day. It is super delish and easy to make
Thanks for hosting another great link party. Have a fabulous week.
Michelle

Clicked on the video, and good luck to your brother! Way to shine a light on that subject! Thanks for hosting the party, too!
