If you follow me on twitter, you already know what happened to me today. And this party’s “comfort food” theme should make total sense to you.
If you haven’t heard yet, let me enlighten you:
My 2-year old and I did a little water time in our back yard today. Nothing big or crazy. Just a little baby pool, the garden hose, and few beach balls. I brought the laptop out, trying to play a little catchup on some bloggy stuff I needed to get done while my daughter was occupied for a few minutes.
She threw a beach ball across the yard. And I, in a complete a total lapse of common sense, set the laptop down on my lawn chair and went to retrieve the ball.
7 seconds later, when I returned to the pool, I found my daughter with garden hose in hand and my laptop sitting in a puddle. She gave me a big grin and said, “I sorry!”
Suffice it to say, it’s been sort of a rotten afternoon.
My hopes are slim to none that we’ll be able to successfully revive my precious macbook that we’ve owned for less than a year. But fingers are crossed anyway as it sits, completely dismembered in front of the box fan in my bedroom. And hopefully I won’t have to use our decrepit “backup” laptop for much longer. Ugh.
So forgive me if the blog looks a little rough around the edges for a few days as I have no copy/paste function, no color dropper, no right click, a lagging mouse, and no photo viewing/editing capabilities.
Lovely. Yes?
And that is why I chose to feature comfort food desserts today :)
These are the foods that I would be cramming in my mouth today should these bloggers all appear at my doorstep, desserts in hand.
Ok… I’d probably do that on any other day too ;)

I like that you are expanding your party! I’m excited to see what gets linked up :)
Thanks for hosting!
Thanks for expanding your link party! I came to your site a few weeks ago for a blog tutorial that you linked up and have followed ever since.
I’m honored to be the first non-food link for the week!
Everyone and everything needs to grow, looking forward to seeing what everyone brings to the party.
I am very happy that you decided to expand into non dessert posts! Thank you so much for hosting!
It is going to be so much fun to see what gets linked up now!!! Thanks for hosting!!!
I love that you are doing both, and that you kept it separate. Perfect medium! And thanks for the feature and the sidebar photo. You make a hard day so much better. :)
And I love all that you are doing with your design. I want to know how to it all, mmkay? Because there is SO MUCH I want to do and I don’t know how. You rock girl!
Sorry for the hard day!!! But I guess we’ve got to have them so the good ones are good, yeah?
And how could I not pick the Cheesecake dip to go in the sidebar???? It WANTS to be on my blog so bad, I couldn’t help it :)
And you are so sweet to be so supportive of all of my “design” endeavors :) I have no idea what I’m doing all the time, but you guys always make me feel like I can do it!! Thanks.

Yay! I’m so excited about this! I love the new design by the way. Like really. A lot.
Ashton, yay for expanding! I love your honesty. It was a little weird linking up a savory dish, but I survived! Thanks for all your hard work, your blog is amazing girl!

Thanks for hosting! I appreciate it.

I am really happy, you are expanding. I have not been into many desserts recently which leaves me out of the sweet blogs. I am hoping to change that, soon, though.
Thanks for hosting both linkys.
Yay…I am glad you opened it up but kept 2 different link ups!! You’re awesome!!! Thanks for the party!!
Thanks for hosting :)

Hi, Ashton, Thanks so much for answering my question about leaving comments! Love your blog. It’s so SWANKY!
I tried leaving the HTML comment here but was given the message “Your HTML cannot be accepted…” Dang. Thanks for your help anyway.

I Love that you added another section for “other Swanky Stuff” because I don’t always seem to have as many desserts as savory stuff to link up :) Looks great . Thanks for hosting.
Thanks for hosting Ashton! I want that pan. I mean, I love my donut pan, but MORE IS ALWAYS BETTER. :)
