Sweet Treats & Swanky Stuff Link Party Sponsored by: Sharp Crochet Hook

I feel like I had a million things to tell you all today, but now I’ve forgotten.
All week long I think, “Oh, I’ll wait and post that on Thursday when everyone links up…”
But now I can’t remember a blessed thing!

Except– I did make a new friend last week who offered to sponsor a giveaway for today!
(and that was probably the most important thing to remember anyway…)

Jessica from Sharp Crochet Hook introduced me to a pretty nifty product she’s come up with…
The Sharp Crochet Hook! (obviously…)

(use the sharp crochet hook to make a cute goody bag like this one!)

“The Sharp Crochet Hook is a really handy tool that is ideal for crocheting through fabric or paper to create really stunning edgings. Now you don’t have to pre-poke holes or pay to get it hemstitched to get the “hemstitched look.” You can use the Sharp Crochet Hook to save time and money. Use it to crochet edgings through fabric for baby blankets, pillowcases, skirt hems, appliques, socks, gloves, etc. You can also use the Sharp Crochet Hook to crochet edgings through paper for cards, scrapbook pages, wall decorations etc. It makes it fun, easy, and convenient.”

Jessica is giving away 1 Sharp Crochet Hook and Crochet Edging Handbook (yay!).
Take a second to enter the giveaway before linking up today!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

One more thing before the party starts…
I joined BlogFrog and started up a Something Swanky Community this week!

I had looked at it a while ago and didn’t really see the point of adding on yet another social networking site to my life, but I took a better look at it this time and can really see where the benefits are to being an active member of BlogFrog.

#1 It’s yet another place to add my RSS feed and get my blog OUT THERE. And you don’t even have to start a community for that. Just sign up with BlogFrog and join in other communities (like mine!). Every time you do that, the RSS feed to your blog is added to that community, and anyone who views that community will see your posts!

#2 It’s another way to monetize your blog. Woot!

#3 I like having an actual forum on my blog– especially for discussing blog design stuff and networking!! Seriously. Blogging is pretty much my favorite thing to talk about, and my husband is so over it. So you should come and chat with me here. Mmm-kay?

In summary: come join my BlogFrog community please!?

Sweet Treats & Swanky Stuff Link Party Sponsored by: Kitchen Meets Girl

Welcome to Sweet Treats & Swanky Stuff Thursday!
Today is my husband’s birthday and I’m supposed to pick him up from work in less than one hour.
And If you were wondering: No– the gifts aren’t wrapped, pop tarts are still smushed into the carpet from this morning, and birthday man’s requested dinner isn’t even a twinkle in my eye…
SOOOO– I’m going to be a little brief today.
(No features today, but I’ll get them up tomorrow!)
Today’s link party is brought to you by my newest Sponsor, Ashley from Kitchen Meets Girl!
I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Ashley over the past few months as she and I have chatted back and forth over email about our blog design dreams– and I can safely say: she’s an absolute doll!
And better yet– she posts the most fabulous recipes!
I asked her to pop over today to introduce herself, and sweetheart that she is, she obliged :)
Gang, meet Ashley from Kitchen Meets Girl!

Hi. I’m Ashley, and I’m addicted to food.

Interestingly enough, I didn’t grow up with an interest in cooking. I don’t know how or when, but somewhere along the line, that changed. Now I’m writing a food blog, and my mother is probably wondering why I didn’t eat this way when I still lived at home (sorry, mom).

I’m just like the rest of you: trying to balance work, kids, family, and friends…which is difficult. Sometimes impossible. I daydream about coming home to a spotless house cleaned by a professional cleaning service, with steaming hot meals prepared by my own personal chef. But since that’s not going to happen, and because I want my son to grow up healthy and nourished by good, wholesome food, I’ve learned to cook.

More surprising, I discovered that I actually enjoy it.

I also discovered that it doesn’t have to be stressful or time-consuming to create meals that are not only good for you, but actually taste good. Stuff like homemade Italian meatballs, garlicky marinated shrimp, fig-proscuitto pizza, and coconut mango smoothies. Of course, I’m also a firm believer that life isn’t complete without desserts, and I enjoy creating treats like mint brownie grasshopper pie in a jar and piña colada bread pudding.

And I’m living proof that anyone–absolutely anyone–can be successful in the kitchen.

Thanks a mill to Ashley for sponsoring today’s Link Party!!
(now if you’ll excuse me– I’m seeing 2-year old hands in my husband’s birthday cake…)
(No, seriously. I’m not joking.)
