Sweet Treats and Swanky Stuff Thursday

Welcome to Sweet Treats and Swanky Stuff Thursday! I am super exited to have ya’ll here!

Before I get into sponsors, giveaways, and BlogCon (because there is a lot of that tonight!), I have two quick blog announcements to make: beginning in November, this link party will become a Saturday post (which means it will post on Friday nights).  The reason for this is that I would like to squeeze one more recipe into my week, and this should help me accomplish that :)

So mark your calendars: November = Sweet Treats and Swanky Stuff SATURDAYS

I don’t want to lose a single one of you!!

Don’t put those calendars away!! In honor of my Grandmother, I’m going to be hosting a special Breast Cancer Awareness link party at the end of October (BCA month peeps)! I’ll let you know the exact date soon, but for now– start thinking PINK! The party will be open to everyone (bakers, crafters, designers, etc). The only rule is: your post must be PINK and include a link to the Susan G. Komen founation!

Alright. Let’s talk BlogCon.

I want to do a quick re-cap of What BlogCon is, who it’s for,  how it works, and where to find the rafflecopter links to enter all of our awesome giveaways!

What is Online BlogCon? BlogCon is the online version of a blogging conference that anyone can attend! It’s designed to work around your schedule and your budget. Real-life blogging conferences are the ideal, of course– but they just aren’t always a feasible option for many of us. Online BlogCon will feature a rock-star lineup of “speakers” who are all successful bloggers and will be sharing their expertise on topics such as photography, creating a pin-worthy post, social networking, balancing life/blogging, and SO. MUCH. MORE. We’re also giving away great prizes, arranging social networking, and sponsoring real-life blogger Meet & Greets across the country (with your help, of course)!

Who is it for? My favorite part about Online BlogCon is that everyone can benefit from attending. If you’re a beginner, you’ll learn all about how to drive traffic to your blog, how to connect with sponsors and get paid, and what the right blog design is for you and how it can make a difference to your blog! If you’re a seasoned pro– trust me, there is still plenty for you! As I’ve read the posts that have been submitted so far, I’ve been amazed at the new information these bloggers have brought to my attention about social media, how to reach out to an audience, and more! There’s always something new to learn.

How does it work? It doesn’t get much easier than Online BlogCon. Register to attend the conference here (there are two parts: a registration form and sending in a $15.00 payment). After that, we’ll send you a confirmation email with important links and dates. Be on the lookout for fun giveaways on Something Swanky, Crazy For Crust, Online BlogCon, and our Affiliates’ pages during the weeks leading up to the conference. A few days before the conference goes live (on October 22), the conference blog will go private, and you will receive an invitation to view it. Once you accept the invitation, you’ll have access to conference! From October 22-24 you’ll be able to view posts from our speakers. We’ll post them throughout the day, but they will not expire until a designated date (no earlier than October 31, exact date TBA). This way, you’ll have the opportunity to read through them at your leisure after work, school, or during carpool ;)

We’ll announce giveaway winners during the conference. Winners will be selected before the conference. We will contact them by email. If the winner does not respond via email within 48 hours, a new winner will be selected.

Meet & Greets will be held in selected areas across the country, determined by where the most blogger-concentrated areas are, and where we know there will be a volunteer host to help arrange the festivity! Please contact Dorothy if you are interested in hosting a Meet & Greet in your area!

Where are these awesome giveaways? Click on the links to enter the Online BlogCon giveaways! Remember: these giveaways are open to Online BlogCon Registered Attendees only!! Not registered? You can take care of that here, and then come back to enter away!!

More to be announced shortly…
