Let me just begin this post by saying: Samoas Week may be the best thing I’ve ever done.
Ever.
ohhhhhhhhhh. emmmmmmmm. geeeeeeeeeeeee.
(omg)
This dip was incredible.
I almost didn’t make it.
Because I felt like I was kind of beating a dead horse with the dip thing
And because I haven’t done a Samoas recipe yet this week with actual Samoas in it
(but don’t worry, those are coming!).
And because it kind of looks like the Samoas Pudding Mousse I did on Monday.
So I thought– maybe this dip isn’t the best idea.
So. Totally. Wrong.
It may very well be the best idea I’ve ever had.
And I’m being completely serious.
Samoas Dip

Ingredients:
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, cold
  • 8 oz. butter or margarine, cold
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 sleeve shortbread cookies (like Lorna Doone)
  • 1 cup (or more, easily) toasted coconut
  • 1 cup Caramel Hershey Kisses
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate for drizzling
Instructions:
  1. Using a paddle attachment, cream the butter and the cream cheese.
  2. Add in the cookies, and mix on high (so the cookies are good and crushed).
  3. Mix in the powdered sugar, until fully incorporated.
  4. Add Hershey kisses, and mix on high so they get broken up really well.
  5. Fold in the toasted coconut with a rubber spatula (I could have easily enjoyed way more coconut in this than 1 cup– but I was afraid of overdoing it).
  6. Serve with apples and graham crackers!

And since I know you don’t really believe me when I tell you to eat it with fruit…
You don’t mind if I double dip, do you?
…’cause I just did 🙂
Oh, and speaking of apples– be sure to be here on Thursday.
I’m posting an extra recipe this week after my link party!!

  1. I don’t know whether to scream at you, “woman, stop this samoas madness!” or buy you a pedicure and an amazing spa day for your genius samoa-related creations and be thankful the world has a mind like yours. Probably a little bit of both, but for sure the last one 🙂

  2. Your blog is one of the best for sweets that I have come across. You have more recipes than I could make in months, that I want to make. Where do I start?

I would love it if you would link any of the baked good on Bake With Bizzy.

    • I don’t think so– but I wish they would! I usually just toast the coconut over the stove on low. I know lots of people who just do it in the oven too. If you need step by step instructions just google it– you’ll find loads!

  5. In my part of the country, Milwaukee, WI…they call these kind of Girl Scout cookies Carmel Delites. I don’t quite understand why they don’t have a universal name. Regardless, this recipe looks fantastic! Can’t wait to try it!
