In all honesty, I hate election time. Like, really, really hate it.
I’m so tired of hearing all the negative set to patriotic music. For pete’s sake.
I’d rather just hear each candidate say all their nasty things set to silence. That would suit me just fine.
No need to toy with my emotions. I can make a grown-up decision all by myself without the music, thankyouverymuch.
My distaste for the current political climate drives my parents nuts. My dad thinks I’m a communist.
(er…. I’m totally not. Just to set the record straight. You know… in case we ever circle back that route again.)
My mom… well, her heaviest accusation against me is that I’m not in love with the Batman trilogy.
Apparently that’s plenty grounds for unpatriotism in our family. I never got the memo.
But if we’re talkin’ movies…
You know what I think is unpatriotic?? That Captain America doesn’t get the girl in the end of the movie.
Well, really, more like the girl doesn’t get Captain America. ‘Cause he makes it to the future and stuff, right? But, oh no! Not her. Nope, she lives her whole life knowing the man she loved plunged himself to an arctic death.
And she has to somehow move past that?
What kind of cinematic patriotism is that????
(I may or may not be crying through the ending of that movie as I’m writing this post.…)
Movies and politics aside, I’m not sure it get much more patriotic than these Banana Pancakes.
Oh, with Reese’s Cups in them. Topped with caramel sundae sauce.
Sounds American to me… although I cry at the end of these too

I made these this morning and they were really runny. Any suggestions?
grrrrr… I just made them last week too, and had the same problem. They weren’t like the first time I made them at all! I mean, all I had to do was add more flour and they were completely perfect, but I’m so bugged that this recipe has been up like this for so long and I didn’t know! I don’t know where the error came from! Anyway, I’m just going in to adjust the recipe right now. So sorry you had a bad batch!
Oh yes, they look incredible! Pinned!
These look great, but I’d totally make a peanut butter sauce to pour over top! Yummy!
