These are so good, I could easily eat them without any frosting at all! You can sub vanilla extract for the vanilla paste, but I warn you, it won’t be the same experience! If you absolutely cannot get your hands on vanilla paste, make your own by scraping out a vanilla bean and mixing it with 2 teaspoons of corn syrup.
Ingredients
- 1½ sticks unsalted butter
- 1¾ cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla paste
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2½ teaspoons baking powder
- 2½ cups flour
- 1¼ cups milk
Instructions
- Using a stand mixer, beat the butter until mostly smooth.
- Add sugar and mix together until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well in between each addition. Add vanilla paste and salt, mix well.
- Gradually add flour, milk, and baking powder until batter forms, but do not over mix.
- Divide evenly among 24 cupcake liners. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
