Kneaders Caramel Syrup
From ABC4
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. heavy whipping cream
- 1 c. corn syrup
1. Whisk together over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is heated through.
Ok! We’re ready to pull it all together!
Remove your bread slices from the refrigerator and start cooking them on a well buttered griddle. {is french toast cooking or baking? or frying? I’m a little confused by that…}
Cook/bake/fry to your liking– you know, crisp and buttery on the outside, warm and moist on the inside. Remember: these slices are super thick, so you’ll need to use a lower heat and keep them on for a little longer– just like crockpot cooking, “low and slow.”
Pour the caramel syrup over top (and I’d highly recommend serving with a strawberry and homemade whipped cream for the full experience, but that’s just me…) and prepare to thoroughly enjoy.

Yummy! I am going to share this on my blog’s facebook page.
I am one of 5 finalists in a HUGE room makeover giveaway. Voting ends today. I would REALLY appreciate it if you would take a moment and stop by and vote for me. I am 3#. Thanks!!

So so so excited that you posted this! Kneaders is my favorite breakfast place!
What is chunky monkey bread?
It’s a lot like monkey bread– have you ever had that? Only baked in a normal bread loaf, and sliced like a normal bread loaf.
Just IN CASE you haven’t had monkey bread– it’s usually baked in a bundt cake pan. And it’s ball of bread dough rolled in some sort of cinnamon-sugar concoction, and once it’s baked is pretty ooey-gooey yummy.
This bread isn’t very ooey-gooey. I think Kneaders uses it mostly to get a great texture and to really incorporate cinnamon throughout the french toast!
*”ball of bread dough” should read “balls of bread dough”
I definitely want to try this! Love Kneaders. I have heard raves about the french toast and can you believe I haven’t ever had it?
Do you have a recipe for homemade whipped cream that you like?
You know, I’ve never actually used a recipe. I just pour whipping cream into my kitchen aid, a couple of tablespoons of sugar, and a drizzle of vanilla extract…. As long as you don’t go WAY overboard on anything, it’ll turn out fine!
Use brown sugar in your whipped cream. And no vanilla necessary when I’ve done it. It’s amazing.
This looks amazing! I love kneaders french toast. Do you have any idea if you could bake it in the oven (almost like a bread pudding)?
I don’t see why not!!
I tried this tonight, but I don’t think that the proportions are right… I halved the egg mixture and it was plenty. I also used your bread recipe, but there was only enough to make one loaf, not too. It still turned out yummy though!
Yeah– it looks like I need to re-make this and re-write the recipe. I’ll be doing that this weekend though!! Sorry, like I mentioned before in the comments– I was still a really new blogger when I wrote this. And I didn’t do a great job of writing the exact measurements as I baked.
But come back soon for an updated version
Oh– I’m thinking of the other part to this post– that’s where I wrote the comment. Sorry!
So are the measurements here the correct ones? I’d love to make this this weekend.. Let me know, and THANK YOU SO MUCH! I miss Kneaders more than anything!!!!!
Yep! I re-did the Chunky Monkey bread– that was the part of the recipe with off measurements. Everything else is right!
Here is a great topping addition to your french toast
Cream Topping:
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 c heavy whipping cream
3 table spoons sugar
Whip cream cheese until smooth. Fold in a little whipped cream at a time until mixed . Add sugar– you may add more sugar to your desired sweetness.
Spread this on each slice of cooked french toast then finish off with the carmel syrup– you will definately die happy!!
I also make the french toast with eggnog and a couple of added eggs. It takes this whole meal up another notch.
