Better Than Anything #Caramel Stuffed #Brownies from somethingswanky.com These are ridiculously addicting!!!

I am completely obsessed with “better than” desserts. Well, cakes. Because I didn’t know you could make anything else “better than…” until I happened upon these Better Than Anything Brownies by Six Sisters Stuff. Turns out, brownies can be made “better than…” after all!

Iย  have to come clean with you though. I completely screwed up the recipe when I made these. I mean, completely. I misread it and thought I was supposed to use sweetened condensed milk, when it actually called for evaporated milk. And I couldn’t find my Kraft caramels, so instead I used melted Caramel filled Hershey Kisses! I went ahead and baked them up, expecting the worse, but they surprisingly turned out wonderful! And completely addictive. Oh! How it is impossible to only eat one!

Below, you will find my adapted version of the brownies, but you can see the original recipe on Six Sisters.

Better Than Anything Caramel Stuffed Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 boxed chocolate cake mix
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup Heath Toffee Bits
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups caramel filled Hershey Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Mix together the boxed chocolate cake mix, 1/2 of the sweetened condensed milk, and the melted butter. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a well greased 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle Heath bits over the batter.
  2. Whisk the milk into the remaining batter and set aside.
  3. Place the Hershey Kisses and remaining sweetened condensed milk into microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 1 minutes. Stir until smooth and pour over the brownie batter in the 9x13 baking dish. Pour over the Heath Bits in the baking dish.
  4. The next bit is a little tricky: scrape the remaining batter over top of the melted Hershey Kisses. Try to drop it evenly over the batter, and spread it gently with a rubber spatula.
  5. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. The middle will be gooey, of course, but it should still be slightly set before you remove it from the oven.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this! It is a delicious treat for my family on a Sunday evening of Olympic watching ๐Ÿ™‚
I had to improvise as I didn’t plan ahead, and came up with these substitutes:
-butterscotch chips in place of heath bits
-handfull of wrapped caramel squares mixed with a broken up candy bar that had toffee bits, in place of the caramel hershey kisses
So yummy! I can’t wait to try this again with the REAL sweets inside! Thanks again!

  3. you said you screwed up the recipe by using sweetened condensed milk but that’s what you have listed in the ingredients. should it be evaporated or is sweetened condensed the way to go? thanks!!

    • TECHNICALLY I screwed it up, but as I said, they still turned out really yummy. So I’m providing the recipe for MY version here, and then if you’d rather do it the way ELyse recommends on Six Sisters, I provided a link to their version ๐Ÿ™‚ The “screw up” really ended up not being a mistake in the end, because they still turned out great!

  4. Just made this and topped it with Vanilla Ice Cream! It’s so rich and yummy! But can this sit out on the table in a covered glass tiered thing? Or must it be refridgereated?

  5. So should step two even be there? Should the last statement of step three be there? I am assuming no, but this is overall a very confusing post

  6. My family and friends love this recipe. Whenever I gather the ingredients together they go crazy!ย

The only thing is that I feel super guilty about using a box cake in the recipe. I loathe box cake. I want to play with the recipe some to make it fully from scratch.ย
